Yolanda is married with two children. She has a furniture making business with her husband and has used a US$ 600 from Fundamic to expand the business. They purchase metal frames which they then upholster using plastic sheeting to create wardrobes, chests of drawers, dressing tables and bookcases. Yolanda is in charge of upholstering and her husband takes the finished products to sell them on the street. He travels far and does business not only in Quito but also in the coastal region of Ecuador. The loans from FUNDAMIC have allowed them to purchase the materials for making the furniture in bulk, thus increasing profitability. This joint effort of husband and wife ensures that their children get an education, something both Yolanda and her husband hold very dear.
